Weekend Deviation – My Saturday Night Chat with Louise Welsh
Posted: March 28th, 2010 | No Comments »Recently I got to deviate away from China with Louise Welsh…in Peking. I enjoyed it massively as I really like her books and she’s a lot of fun. Louise is a terrific Glasgow writer who burst onto the scene with The Cutting Room, followed that up with the brilliant Tamburlaine Must Die, the gave us The Bullet Trick and we also talked about her latest Naming the Bones. In fact Louise launched the book in Scotland and then got on a plane to come straight to Peking to talk about it. She’s won tons of awards and gets praised all over the place and rightly so. It was all of course part of the excellent Beijing Bookworm International Literary Festival and they recorded it for podcasting via City Weekend magazine – details here.
