Hong Kong Street Names – Signs of a Colonial Era

Posted: November 13th, 2009 | No Comments »

Andrew Yanne and Gillis Heller have produced a nice little book detailing the origins of the road names of Hong Kong, Signs of a Colonial Era, - a useful resource for both the scholar and the regular visitor/resident to Hong Kong looking to uncover some of the city’s past. I’d review it but Peter Gordon has done a longer and quite satisfactory review on the Asian Review of Books website.  Well worth adding to your research shelf as a useful referencer plus a casual reading will through up all manner of intriguing little tales of old Hong Kong.
